Resho makes a joke to Memo who is naif and coward and scares him while they're in the cave. Memo passes out and doesn't wake up again. When they're back in the village, it's shaking with the news that Memo is struck by the evil spirits. While the prayer-exorcist is torturing Memo to save his soul from the demons, Resho suffers a pang of conscience because of this secret that he can't tell and leads his friend to the threshold of death.
